UPL Amicus Description

UPL Amicus is a highly stable selective pre-emergent herbicide that provides excellent control on grasses and broadleaf weeds. It is a systemic herbicide with contact activity and some residual activity in the soil. The active ingredient in Amicus is metolachlor, which is a chloroacetanilide herbicide that inhibits the enzyme phenylalanine ammonia-lyase (PAL), disrupting plant growth and development. Amicus is effective against a wide range of crops, including maize, cotton, rice, and vegetables. It is a pre-emergent herbicide that can be applied as a pre-emergent or post-emergence herbicide, with the recommended dose being 800 ml per hectare. Amicus is known for its excellent crop safety and very low volatilization, making it a safe choice for weed management.
